MYAMI is the latest pop jewel unearthed from Australia's seemingly endless mine of diamond talent. The Melbourne artist's home-brewed debut, 'Soldier', pivots off a skeleton of booming bass drums and distantly resonating piano chords, peppered with her tongue-twisting, half-sung, half-rapped verses. It's hard to believe that something of this globetrotting scale and immediacy could have come out of a bedroom studio, but that only makes us more in awe of MYAMI's prowess. - DC
